Tielrode is a small town, nestled in a magnificent river landscape where the Durme meets the Schelde. Nevertheless are Brussels, Antwerp and Ghent in easy reach.

On this beautiful spot Sofie Lachaert and Luc d'Hanis established their gallery. The interior is minimalistic and sober, in the serene spaces the beauty of the work that is (re)presented comes out perfectly. Work of museum quality, hesitating on the boundary between art and design.

Next door to the gallery, in the former shipyards' offices Lachaert & d'Hanis created an exclusive B&B. With a keen eye for detail Lachaert & d'Hanis personally designed the décor, a fascinating blend of contemporary design and art and objects from the gallery.

Three connecting spaces, light and sober, are furnished with great care and with carefully chosen furniture and objects from mainly Belgian designers. Furniture by Bram Boo & Casimir, a relax chair by Maarten van Severen, art by Thierry De Cordier, P. Bourgeois e.o.,objects of d'Hanis & Lachaert...

In the bedroom you find a comfortable king size Auping bed with separate orthopaedic matrasses and made up with special sheets made from the finest cotton. You can choose your own pillow.

There is a mini bar filled with an assortment of Belgian beers and soft drinks. Coffee & tea service and delicacies. All complimentary.

And after a nice walk in the countryside you can relax in the pure and harmonious atmosphere of the huge bathroom, enjoying a rain shower or a vapour bath in the wooden bathtub.

There is an ipad at your disposal with useful information; yelo tv and all sorts of applications, using free wifi.

In the morning an extensive, royal breakfast is served in the gallery, using silver, cutlery and tableware designed by artists of the gallery. You can enjoy home-made rolls and jam, eggs from the B&B's own henhouse, freshly brewed coffee and top class tea from Damman. Many of the used ingredients are organic, such as breakfast cereal from the famous house Sharpham Park. Everything served with Belgian hospitality.

On demand, and at additional charge, an extra room with two single beds is available. Guests have their own entrance and there is free parking on the road. Two aluminium bicycles are at your disposal and, if required, we can arrange for a private chauffeur to take you wherever you want.

We hope to welcome you as our guest!!
